Located in the shadow of Mount Kenya, the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club is about 190 km north of Nairobi, and lies over 100 acres of beautifully laid-out gardens, including well-tended rose gardens.There are 120 luxury guest rooms, furnished in typically sophisticated style according to the Fairmont group tradition. In addition to the guest rooms, deluxe rooms, suites, and cottages are also available. The décor is sophisticated and elegant, in soothing neutral colors. Guests in all of the accommodations can relax at their own fireplace and the rooms have in-room safes, stocked mini-bars, and facilities for making coffee and tea (superior rooms only). The restaurant offers a gourmet nine-course a la carte menu. A children’s menu is available, and children can be served an early dinner. Guests can choose from a number of activities, including golf, swimming, horseback riding, and croquet. The curving swimming pool is surrounded by a stone terrace and gives wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding forest, gardens and Mount Kenya in the distance.
