Kenya Vacations
Lake Nakuru
Situated in the heart of the Great Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru National Park is world
famous for the flocks of lesser Flamingoes that color its shores vivid pink. Surrounded
by rich areas of grassland, euphorbia and acacia forests, rocky cliffs, and a myriad
of animal and bird species, there is little doubt why Lake Nakuru National Park
rivals Amboseli as Kenya's second most visited National Park- after the Masai Mara.
Although the Flamingo population fluctuates as it migrates up and down the Rift
Valley to breed, there are 400 other recorded species of birds on the shores of
the Lake and in the surrounding park making it second only to Lake Baringo as the
most prolific ornithological site in Kenya.
