Nyeri Town

Nyeri is the provincial head for central province . The town lies at the eastern base of the Aberdare ranges. It is about 165 kilometers away from Kenya's Capital, Nairobi . Nyeri is the gateway to Aberdare National Park . During the colonial era, Nyeri used to be a garrison. The White Rhino Hotel, Outspan Hotel, and the Aberdare Country Club at nearby Mweiga are living reminders of the old days. Lord BadenPowell, the founder of scout movement is buried here. Baden-Powell once wrote "The nearer to Nyeri the nearer to bliss".
