Kenya Vacations
Tiwi Beach
The wide sandy beaches of Tiwi beach are an hour south of the bustling Port city
of Mombasa . The Tiwi is a
vibrant, intimate little paradise with endless stretches of powdery white sandy
beaches lined with Coconut palms and lapped by the warm turquoise colored waters
of the Indian Ocean. The gorgeous little beach that stretches down to Tanzania is
a Mecca for sun worshippers and snorkels alike as the reef are alive with colorful
fish. “The map of Africa” is a nice rock pool near the beach and funny enough it
takes the shape of the African Continent. This is a nice place to spend time snorkeling.
A common place to see Marine
life at their best is to snorkel on the Coral reef.
Bottled water, sun cream and a hat are advisable as at times it’s very sunny here.
In addition to use private transport or taxis is advisable as bounding a matatu
might tempt you to walk the last two kilometers from the matatu junction that might
be unsafe. A visit to Wasini Island for a traditional Swahili lunch, a trip to Kisite
Marine National Park, Dolphin watching, shallow and deep sea diving and deep-sea
fishing to an afternoon’s siesta are things to do here. The luxurious Tiwi beach
resorts and hotels subtly communicate the culture of the land through traditional
cuisine, hospitality customs and ethnic décor as well as providing comfortable retreat
from the sand and surf. This makes Tiwi beach a power pack of fascinating thrills
interspersed with a relaxing environment.
