History
The Masai Mara
is coined from the Maa language of the Maasai, the largest tribe in Africa,
meaning ‘mottled’ referring to the patchy landscape.
The name astatically draws from the bespectacled migration of wildebeests.
The difference in spelling distinguishes the legendary Maasai people tall, elegant, dark and
slim with ochre dyed hair roaming the jungle, which also serves as their home. Their
outlandish milk, blood and meat diet is a reflection of their world-famed culture.
