Attractions in Mt. Kenya

The Mt. Kenya National Park is home to the three peaks of Mt.Kenya (Batian, Nelion and Lenana ) that jostle the brains and brawns of hikers and climbers . The view of the sun at dawn and dusk in the pristine wilderness or the glaciers in the midst of varied alpine vegetation cover is mesmerizing. The fact that few species have adapted to the high altitude may explain why some endangered species are still found here, including 11 species of endemic plants. The park also has mineral springs and lies in close proximity to the Meru National park , Samburu game reserve and the Aberdare mountain Ranges plus other privately owned reserves.

Access to Mt. Kenya

This wonderful piece of land is situated in the Kenyan highlands, central province of Kenya . Main access point: the road at Nanyuki and Isiolo via Sirimon track or Nyeri –Nanyuki road near Naro moru. One can also enter via the Chogoria- Embu -Meru road 150 km north of Nairobi . There’s no airstrip in the park but the nearest airstrip is one at Nanyuki.
