Kenya Vacations
Yachting in Kenyan Coast
Yachting might be the oldest sport known to man. Before the advent of the powered
motor, boats depended on human power for propulsion. Arab and Persian pioneers of
the Indian Ocean trade used dhows and smaller boats which they used to reach the
shores where their bigger vessels could not reach. In times of war, fleeing was
necessitated by yachts which needed powerful people to row them to safety. Today
every year, participants engage in a yachting competition across the Kenyan coast . If you like Yachting, the sight of men and
women in boats with nothing but paddles and life jackets working their way across
one creek to another in a display of teamwork and endurance will unleash the Yacht-master
in you.
In the evenings, site seeing the expansive beaches
on a silent cruise to explore your oceanic desires is a must do. Such services you
will find in all four and five star hotels along the Indian Ocean, including the
tamarind dhow which has daily excursions costing 100 – 200 Euros.
You won’t have to miss your dinner because special arrangements to bring food and
refreshments on board can be made. Travel is encouraged all year round.
