Safety

Kenya is a relatively safe place for tourists, especially if you are on a guarded tour. However, as with many places in the world, it is important to be cautious and to avoid any risky behavior. Avoid carrying any valuable items such as jewelry, passports and big wads of cash with you as you move around. Leave these in your hotel room safe. When paying for something try not to visibly remove all the money in your pocket. Pick a few bills discreetly. Avoid wearing a money pouch and be careful not to leave any bags unattended.

Try not to wander into poorly lit/ dark streets or to hitch hike. Be careful with items such as cameras and watches. Always carry your hotel phone number with you incase you get stranded or lost. During the safari, remember that most of the animals you are looking at are dangerous, and do not provoke them in any way.
