Kenya Vacations
Ecosystem
Northern section, mostly an acacia bush land, enjoys a large presence here. Hills
with crests as high as 1800M, lick the low clouds in the sky amidst wooded vegetation.
The southern section displays grassy plains with the Tsavo River flowing through
to the Northern section, escorted by a steadfast perimeter of riverine and acacia
woodland. Among the widespread beds bordering it, Lake Jipe moistens the swamps
in its Eastern and Western ends. The Mzima spring pours over 25 million litres a
day, attracting the eyes of visitors with its gushing intensity while animals roaming
the park such as the ant-bear, the yellow baboon and cheetah among others keep an
eye out for big cats, like the elusive leopard, lion, and cheetah.
Climate
At an altitude of between 200-1000m, temperatures range between 20- 30 degrees.
The hot and dry climate of the
Tsavo West National park may be reason to shed off a bit of clothing. About
200 700mm of rainfall per annum, breaks the dry conditions. The first rainy season-,
the longest, lasts from March to April. The second season lasts from November to
December. The ideal time for visiting the park is during the peak season of July-
August.
