Kilifi is a small town that lies on the Kilifi Creek about 58kms north of Mombasa.
The town alongside the lovely creek is known for its lively Giriama people, the
famous ancient Mnarani ruins, including Tombs and Mosques, dating back to 14th century
and a peaceful site with the largest Baobab tree on the Kenyan coast where people
visit to meditate and to picnic.
Kilifi has the finest beach along the Kenyan coast which is rarely visited and practically
deserted because it is further from the other beaches in Mombasa. Furthermore the
soft white sandy beach is a haven for sun worshipers as it stretches out for miles.
Major activities one can engage in around Kilifi include world class big game fishing,
bird watching amongst tropical mangrove islands in the creek, snorkeling and scuba
diving along the vast coral reef, windsurfing , water skiing , Glass-bottomed boat
rides, Cruises in the creek, and the Dhow trips
