Kisii

Kisii town is located in south-west Kenya and is the capital of Kisii County. From this town one can easily gain access to Tabaka Soapstone quarries, the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in Narok County, Lambwe Valley Game Reserve in South Nyanza County, Kisumu city and the Kenya /Tanzania or Kenya /Uganda border points.

Kisii is famous for the art of soapstone carving and so a great place to visit would be Tabaka hills the home of skilled soapstone carvings artisans. The centre is located about 30Km from Kisii town and their products are largely exported and sold locally.
