Situated only 7 kilometers from down town Nairobi, the Nairobi National Park offers you a chance to get lost in the jungle, amidst a background of skyscrapers and modernity. At this amply located park you will see four of the “big five” including the lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino, but that is not all. Look out for over 50 species of mammals such as giraffe and zebra, and for bird lovers, this park has over 400 documented species of birds. The park also acts as a rhino sanctuary and you are guaranteed to see the endangered black rhino in its natural habitat. Take a safari walk over to the Animal Orphanage located inside the park and come up close to wounded or orphaned animals that call this place home. There are also plenty of picnic sites available.
